Welcome to the OneOfSix Wiki!

I've set this wiki up to compliment the discussions on my blog and to facilitate collaborative participation in various projects, such as the Tassimo reverse engineering efforts.

Earlier this summer I finally disposed of my faithful Tassimo: The death knell was the dissolution of the agreement between Starbucks and Kraft for the exclusive production of pods. As supplies of my favourite coffee pods dwindled (eventually, only Cafe Verona existed in most Toronto retailers) my machine began to sit idle as I returned to using my trusty Bodum French Press. After several weeks, I donated it anonymously to some unknown deserving folks in my building.

Its replacement only arrived in the past couple of weeks: A Keurig Special Edition single serve brewer. Not as fancy as the Tassimo, but it had two compelling "features" that drove my decision to purchase: First, Starbucks will be making K-Cups for it in the very near future, and second, you can purchase a re-usable K-Cup that you can put your own coffee in for a custom cup.

With this, my adventures in Tassimo hacking is well and firmly over. Best of luck to the dedicated hackers who are still tinkering with theirs!

I've been reviewing the new account creation problem that has prevented confirmation emails being sent out to applicants. Seems that there was a missing entry in the web.config that I've replaced and tested with an external account to verify that it works. As before, let me know if you don't get an email message when you create an account.

I haven't been especially diligent in keeping this wiki up-to-date; I've had numerous requests to fix it for some time and have just now (Dec. 31, 2010) managed to debug some entries in the web.config that got corrupted when my host ran some upgrades.

You're likely here because you're wanting information on reverse-engineering a Tassimo. The links below will direct you to pages that I originally wrote in 2007 while exploring this subject. By early 2008 I had largely abandoned my efforts for several reasons, including starting a new job and welcoming a new baby into the world. Also, I'd run into some intellectual brick walls which required more time than I had to resolve.

So, what's included here is archival - if you feel the need to update the pages or add your own content, please feel free to create an account and do so.
